Men’s Behaviour Change

By Zoe Hopper December 10, 2020

As a result of an application for funding, on 7th October the Department of Social Services provided Family Life with additional funding for our Specialist Family Violence Services to support our Dads in Focus programs expansion into Bayside, Kingston, Glen Eira, Stonnington and Port Phillip.

Only two days later we were notified of an additional $325,000 funding from the Victorian State Government (via Family Safety Victoria) as part of a COVID response package to support perpetrator interventions services and to address additional demand throughout the pandemic. This has enabled us to expand our service delivery, reduce waiting times and better plan resources moving into 2021.

The Family Safety & Wellbeing Team has been working hard throughout the pandemic to support our clients both virtually and over the phone. The Men’s Behaviour Change program commenced online operations on 18 September, which was very successful. There are currently 10 groups running, with a hope to have 15 in early 2021.

We would like to thank our local MP Paul Edbrooke, who was instrumental in helping us secure this funding.
